Tactile: A Fiber Arts Studio
& A Verb for
Keeping Warm
Tactile: A Fiber Arts Studio
Tactile and Sincere Sheep offer spinning and felting fibers and
yarn hand-dyed with high quality natural dyes. While the natural
dyeing process is more labor intensive, we feel that it provides
an important connection to the past and produces results that can
not be replicated with synthetic dyes. Each dye is a reflection
of its environment and the climate in which it was grown.
A Verb for Keeping Warm
My quest to spend as much time possible with color, texture, and
warmth spurred the creation of A Verb for Keeping Warm. I
use natural dyes to create a colorful variety
of spinning/ felting fiber and yarn (sometimes
handspun). Fibers I offer include merino, blue-faced
leicester, camel, cashmere, silk, and yak. One of my favorite
things about creating and selling raw materials
is that, although for me it is a finished
object, for you the creative process is only
just beginning... |
