Venue: Concourse Exhibition Center
Number of Vendors: 200
Expected Attendance: 18,000-20,000 over two days
Bazaar Bizarre began in 2001 in the Boston-area as a group of friends cobbling together their handcrafted DIY wares to sell and stage an offbeat entertainment extravaganza. In 2004 the Bazaar Bizarre spread to Los Angeles and Cleveland. In 2006 Make Magazine took them under their wing as part of the Maker Faire Bay Area and Austin, Texas. The Bazaars in Boston, Cleveland and San Francisco happen every year during peak holiday shopping season. Each event draws thousands of shoppers and workshop attendees. See our photos at www.flickr.com/groups/bazaarbizarresf for images from previous fairs.

About Bazaar Bizarre Shoppers
“The event (Baz Biz SF) proved there is a viable market for hand-made art, and, more than ever, there is a need to do business face-to-face. The artists and the guests who were only charged one dollar to get into this event renewed my faith in art and more importantly in what people do with art. What better motivation than the success of doing what one desires to do?…..I no longer fear the plushness of my guts, because they can now bear a friendly face and a welcoming exterior to cuddle up with. Promise me, SF, that you will not hold back in turning the characters in your sketchbooks into dolls. We want to give our money to people for what they do and who they are. Bizarre Bazaar proved this to be true yesterday.” – Nate Nugent, SF Weekly
