AmeliaStrader Meet The JuryAmelia Strader is originally from Boston, MA now living with her husband in beautifulSan Francisco, CA. She has been knitting and sewing since she could hold onto a needle.Having grown up in a family of artists and creative people, she feels lucky to have beensurrounded by art supplies, fabric, and yarn at a young age. Amelia graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art with a BFA in Fashion Design.For 8 years she worked in the garment industry and as a technical designer. She uses the skills she developed as a technical designer to help work out her own knitwear designs and patterns. She is currently the Associate Buyer for the Museum of Craft and Folk Artin San Francisco, CA. She is co-organizer of Craft Bar at MOCFA and co-owner of UrbanCraft SF. When she is not crafting or working you can find her riding the hills of SF on her bike.

jennyhart2 Meet The JuryJenny Hart is the founder of Sublime Stitching, an embroidery design company she launched from Austin, Texas in 2001. Hart is an internationally published artist, designer and award-winning author of multiple titles for Chronicle Books (San Francisco) including the recently released, Embroidered Effects. Jim Phillips Meet The JuryJim Phillips comes from a crafty Midwestern family; his paternal grandmother was a ceramicist and floral arranger, his maternal grandmother crocheted and had the greenest of thumbs, and his father was reknown for his pressed flower cards, bookmarks, and such. Jim himself dabbles in ATCs, collage, weaving, loom knitting, embroidery, and anything else that isn’t too messy. However, in regards to the BazBiz Steering Committee, he’s here as A Consumer. Jim grew up in the Midwest (where he learned all about craft fairs), put in over a decade in New York (where he learned all about shopping), and has been in San Francisco for 20 years (where he learned about shopping at craft fairs).

She heads up crafty happenings like the weekly Craft Night at the Etsy Labs in Brooklyn, as well as the How-Tuesday column on the Etsy blog, among many other elements that center around creativity and community. You might also know her as Etsy admin julieincharge, or her bookbinding alter ego, Your Secret Admiral, or even as small apartment dweller, Tiny Palace.
