Focus Group Needed For New Mobile Productivity Management App

The developers of the Intuit mobile application Weave are looking for creative small business owners to participate in a five week long user study. If you are running a creative small business, even if you currently consider yourself a hobbyist/crafter (not supporting yourself on your income) we would love to talk to you!

All you have to do is download our latest version of Weave and actively use it for your business. Each week, developers will be calling or meeting in person to check in with you and gather feedback about how you use Weave to help manage your business. We’ll also be asking you about ideas new additions and modifications to the application.

What is Weave?
Whatever you want to manage – your art, your hobby, your business, your life – Weave helps you tie it all together. Requirements:
- Active use of the Weave app (current and new users welcome!)
- Own a creative product-based business
- Be willing to participate in a one-hour discussion with Weave approximately once a week. This can be a combination of in person meetings and phone calls depending on your locality.
- Own and use an iPhone or iPod touch which runs on 4.0 or later
- Be a current US resident, local to the SF Bay Area preferred but not required.

Compensation:
$500 in a Visa Gift card will be paid to you after you have completed all 5 weeks of the study. No partial payments or compensation for individuals who drop the study before the end date or miss meetings.

Intuit is looking for a group of creative business owners to test drive the Weave App in person! They’re interested in getting your first impressions & learning about what you would need from Weave to make it the app for your creative life!

Maker Faire is this coming weekend. Makers and attendees are coming from across the country and all around the Bay Area! We encourage ride sharing and alternative transportation and want to share some travel tips with you! Please consider these options and start planning your trip to Maker Faire!

BIKE TO MAKE FAIRE

MAKER FAIRE TICKET DISCOUNT FOR BIKE RIDERS

• Park at the Bike Valet for FREE. S. Delaware Street (south of the West Grate near 25th Avenue.) Buy Adult Maker Faire tickets for $20 (a $5 discount) and Student / Youth tickets for $10 at bike valet – cash only.
Bike valet hours: Saturday May 21st 9:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 22nd 9:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Third Annual Dolores Park to Maker Faire Social Ride with Rock the Bike:
Join the Saturday, May 21st social ride from Dolores Park in SF to Maker Faire. Organized by Rock The Bike, the same group that puts on the Pedal Powered Stage at the Faire, this is a great chance to leave the car behind and ride with other Faire goers, musicians, and volunteers. The ride is mostly flat, 21 miles long. Gather at Dolores Park’s 19th St. steps at 8:30. Riding by 9:15!   Facebook link for the Dolores Park ride.

Palo Alto to Maker Faire Social Bike Ride:
Both Saturday and Sunday, May 21st and 22nd, this leisurely-paced 15-mile bike ride over flat terrain will arrive at Maker Faire around 11:00 am. Meet at Lytton Plaza in downtown Palo Alto (University Ave & Emerson St) at 9:00 am. We’ll stop at Redwood City Caltrain Station (northbound platform) to pick up additional riders there at 9:50 am. No rider left behind!

DRIVING AND PARKING AT MAKER FAIRE

We know many of you will need to drive and park at Maker Faire.

If you are coming by car, please follow these directions to drive and park. Parking is available at the San Mateo County Event Center for $17 per car per day, however, we recommend a quick walk to Maker Faire from the free parking lots!

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO EVENT CENTER PARKING

The Event Center will charge $17 per car per day – cash only. The only entrance into the Event Center parking lot is on Saratoga Drive. There are 3,600 spots available.

From San Francisco and the North Bay: take Hwy 101 South, exit onto 92 West, then exit onto Delaware Street, turn right on Delaware St. and drive south and make a left on Saratoga Drive.

From San Jose and the South Bay: take Hwy 101 North, exit on Hillsdale Blvd., turn left and drive east on E. Hillsdale and turn right on Saratoga Drive.

From the East Bay: take Hwy 92 east, exit on Delaware Street, turn right and drive south on Delaware and make a left on Saratoga Drive.

NEW PARKING LOCATION ADDED

College of San Mateo – CSM – 2,000 additional parking spaces have been added. This location is at 1700 West Hillsdale Blvd, San Mateo. Two free shuttles running every 15-20 minutes.

Sweet Dreams Co-op Looking For a Renter To Share Studio Space

We are a nonprofit organization that provides sewing & fashion design classes to young women in San Francisco. Our studio is approximately 600 sq feet and is located in the Mission District at Hampshire and Mariposa St. in a secure, artist studio building. Sewers, crafters, and designers we are looking for you: monthly rental preferred but will consider hourly agreement. Dry media only.

Studio includes:

- Two large cutting tables and two tables for machinery

- Sewing machines available for use, including industrial

- Cutting mats, rulers, iron & ironing boards, dress form, etc.

- Kitchen with refrigerator, microwave & toaster oven, sink, utensils

- Wireless internet

- Small storage space

Availability: now. week-day/night and week-end time, when classes aren’t in session, goggle calendar upon request

Rates:

- Hourly: $15 or $25 with use of machines?

- Monthly: To be negotiated

- Security deposit
