Application Information - PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFORE PROCEEDING

Applications are being accepted from March 9th thru April1st 2009. The notification deadline is April 6th 2009.

Bazaar Bizarre Maker Faire is a juried event with rotating guest judges from the greater craft community. Bazaar Bizarre supports artists and craftspeople that appeal to the aesthetic of the "indie art and craft scene" and have innovative approaches to traditional craft forms. While Bazaar Bizarre does not have strict rules for determining acceptance, the following criteria are taken into consideration when reviewing applications:

This is by no means an exhaustive list, as each applicant is weighed on many factors and the personal tastes of the current guest judges. We strive to show a balance of product categories, veteran crafters and new applicants in every show. Due to the high volume of applications Bazaar Bizarre is not able to give individual reviews for each application. Rejection for this show does not exclude you from reapplying to future shows or participating in other ways at Maker Faire.

Traditionally we have received more vendor applications than there are vendor spaces. So the more information you provide in your application-the more we'll be able to consider when making our decision.

One vendor space may be shared amongst more than one crafter. Just be sure to give us information about all the crafters involved in one application.

Do I need a vendor's permit?
YES. You are responsible for holding or obtaining any necessary seller permits through the state of CA. You are also responsible for registering your small business with the IRS and collecting sales tax for the items you're selling. Please visit the State Board of Equalization for more information: http://www.boe.ca.gov/info/reg.htm

What does my vendor fee cover?
Your fee includes a 6'x6' booth space, two chairs, and two passes to Maker Faire for the entire weekend. Vendors also receive their bio and link on our gallery for approximately one calender year till the next Maker Faire San Mateo. Tables and electricity are available for rental after acceptance.

What is the cost?
The fee for a vendor booth space is $130.00 for the entire weekend. There is a NON REFUNDABLE $10 jury fee for applying. You'll be notified by email on April 6th 2009 whether or not you've been accepted into the fair. If you are not accepted, $130 of your $140 fee will be refunded by April 10th 2009.

When you make payment the Paypal transaction will list Mary Jane's Attic as a recipient. It is OK. You are NOT being ripped off. You made payment to the proper address as the account is maintained by one of our organizer's businesses.  Please be sure to write your business name in the text box when checking out with Paypal.

Is my application fee refundable?
Due to the competitive prices and low budget of this show we will only consider requests for refund on a case by case basis. We rarely issue refunds, and only due to well documented severe catastrophic hardships. You are not under any conditions permitted to sell or trade your space. If you are found to be selling or trading your vendor space we will BAN you from all future Bazaar Bizarre shows across the nation. Please do not apply unless you are committed to selling at Maker Faire.

Can I share my space?
YES! One vendor space may be shared amongst more than one crafter. You must  give us information about all the crafters involved in ONE application. We will not find a booth partner for you. You must know who you are sharing with at the time of application. Sharing your booth does not entitle you to more room (square footage) at your vendor space.

Are there promotional opportunities for my business?
Cross-Promos, Giveaways and Advertising opportunities may be available. Email us at sf_info@bazaarbizarre.org if you have any interest participating in these kind of opportunities.
